I attended the UKIMS virtual meeting. This is an annual event and encourages PhD and early research students to present their work in 10 minutes, allowing up to 15 presenters during the day. The range of subjects discussed were up to their usual high standard. The science focused on perinatal mental health to include foetal exposure to gestational diabetes, nicotine and stress hormones and epigenetics. Some of the talks concentrated on ethnicity, diversity, the impact of Covid 19 and the importance of listening to mothers, whilst other talks looked at accessibility, demographics and risk factors. A thoroughly well-presented and excellent eclectic mix of topics.
